Ducks Don't Wear Socks

Emily is a serious girl. Duck is...well, an un-serious duck. When they meet, Emily insists on staying serious, while Duck...well, does what Duck does. Until one day, Emily cracks a little bit of a smile. And then she laughs. And then...ha, you'll have to read the story to find out.

One thing I like about this book is that Duck never tries to make Emily change. He just is who he is, and he eventually rubs off on her. Little Boy and I laughed and laughed at Duck's shenanigans in this story--Little Boy especially loved the part about underwear. [The underwear part isn't gross. It's just...Duck.]

So, give Ducks Don't Wear Socks a try. Kids like the humor in it, and we grown-ups can always use a reminder to not be so serious.

Full disclosure: I don't receive any compensation for reviewing children's books--the books are usually just checked out from the local library.
