I love a good rhyming book. Little Boy does, too. Some rhyming books don't rhyme very well, or the rhythm is a bit off. But then there are the ones that have a good rhythm and creative rhymes. Like The Beastly Feast.
This one's pretty straightforward. The beasts have a feast. All of the animals bring food to share--the bears bring pears, the mosquitoes bring burritos, and so on. That's pretty much all there is to it, which makes it a great book for kids who are learning to rhyme--there's not a lot of other prose getting in the way.
My favorite part is after the feast is over. The animals are worn out after all that partying, so the armadillos show up with...pillows. I'm not sure why, but the armadillo-pillow rhyme made me laugh out loud.

Ha, I've got to check this one out. We love a good rhyming book too.
